Grounded in the Gospel and inspired by human solidarity, Abound in Hope Nigeria (a 501c3) promotes the physical, educational and spiritual well being of the underprivileged through support of non-governmental organizations in Nigeria.
Need in Nigeria
Nigeria, “the Giant of Africa”, is a modestly-sized country in Africa and yet one of the most populous countries on the planet. Home to both vast oil reserves and a relatively new democracy, the Federal Republic of Nigeria battles corruption and a reputation for scams. The population struggles with ethnic violence, tribalism, and religious persecution. While nearly half of Nigerians are Christian, persecutions of Christians for their beliefs is a significant and growing problem. There is a need among the Nigerian people for hope that the future will be different.
Our Mission
Abound in Hope, Inc. is a 501c3 that was created by a group of American and Nigerian Catholics to promote hope in Nigeria. Together we work at empowering Nigerians to improve their national reality, through education, faith and access to life-preserving services. We fund ethical, Christian groups that are serving the people. We promote Christian education for the creation of good leaders, men and women who can lead with integrity and break a cycle of poverty and corruption. We are driven by the core Christian value to give of oneself to others. We hope that by demonstrating how good work can change a nation, community by community, we can inspire others to give as well.
About the Organization
Abound in Hope is a small and transparent organization, dedicated to putting money directly into defined projects with visible results. We don’t provide ongoing general aid or distribute anonymous grants — we work with our network of local heroes to personally vet grant recipients, and we stay in contact to make sure donations are making maximum impact where they are needed. Abound in Hope is a nonprofit that keeps its overhead low so we can put money in the hands of those who can use it best: handpicked projects that directly support the medical, educational and spiritual needs of the people of Nigeria.
